I am excited to go on this trip because I will get to have a completely different experience and emerge myself in nature and history. I have never been anywhere outside of the U.S. so this will be the first opportunity I have to explore a new country. I am looking forward to going to Ecuador to learn about a new lifestyle, culture, and history. I am excited to experience a new Hispanic culture other than my own. For the Galapagos Islands, I'm excited to see the animals and wildlife there. These animals are complete different than everyday animals in the zoo. Also for the Galapagos Islands, I am looking forward to learn about the community and culture. All of this is going to be a new experience for me and I absolutely can't wait to explore it!
I am excited to travel to the Galapagos because I love seeing new places and I am excited to share this experience with my friends, and hopefully make some new friends with the other students going. I was intrigued by this trip because I haven't had the opportunity in any of my schools to do something like this. And it gives me the chance to see the big tortoises because I always hear about them. When we learned about Darwin, we discussed the big tortoises, and they're something I've always hoped to see. The trip fits into my IB curriculum at Reagan because it is a trip focused on Science and History. I feel that this trip will give me some more insight into the curriculum we are covering in my DP Environmental Systems and Societies class. I am hoping this will get me more interested in Science, since it has always been a subject that I struggle in.
This blog will be updated by students and chaperones!
